The 7th Annual FMH, Relay for Life Radiothon, to benefit the local chapter of the American Cancer Society is a two-day broadcast, heard live on Key 103 and 106.9 The Eagle. This year Radiothon will take place March 18th from 5:00 am until 7:00 pm at the FMH Crestwood Center and March 19th from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Talley Rec. Center in Baker Park.
In the last six years, Radiothon has raised over $174,000 and this year Manning Media has added several additional events in hopes of doubling our efforts. Donations can be made several ways, including calling into the Sprint Radiothon phone bank during the live broadcast at 800-830-3704, by bidding on the many incredible items in the Radiothon Silent Auction, dropping off a donation in person at either location, or this year, by participating in the Radiothon 5K run/walk. The 5K will start and finish at the Talley Rec Center in Baker Park, located in Downtown Frederick, Maryland. This first ever Radiothon 5K currently has nearly 300 registered runners and all of the registration fees collected will benefit Relay for Life.
The American Cancer Society, Relay for Life movement is the world’s largest and most impactful fundraising event to end cancer. It unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action to finish the fight once and for all.
It is not to late to round up your friends and family and run or walk your way through the Baker Park USATF certified course and track your progress with searchable, real time results or join us in the park to cheer on participants and then stick around to traverse the Soldier Fit Obsticle Course or to visit the participating vendors in the Health and Wellness Show immediately following the 5K inside the Talley Rec Center.
